Volledige beschrijving: Antique Indian Ox cart table, 1800s
Antique Indian bullock cart platform with Brass & Iron — c.1800, Wabi-Sabi Object!
A profoundly textured relic of vernacular Indian craftsmanship, this late 18th–early 19th century bullock cart platform offers not just furniture, but a narrative in solid wood. Formerly the load-bearing base of a working ox cart, it presents as a sculptural, low-slung structure — unpolished, elemental, and deeply honest in materiality.
The hardwood frame — likely teak or sal wood — is bound with hand-forged iron strapping and adorned with original brass fittings, each softened by decades of use. The legs, gracefully arched and carved by hand, lift the piece just slightly off the ground, imbuing it with a sense of grounded elegance.
With its raw presence and organic erosion, this object aligns beautifully with wabi-sabi interiors, Japandi-inspired spaces, or tribal-luxe compositions. It functions effortlessly as a coffee table, sculptural base, or installation surface — ideal for design-led environments seeking quiet impact.
